SuMoth Challenge

We don’t just build boats, we push the boundaries of innovation, performance and sustainability.

Our mission has two clear pillars: first is to engineer the fastest moth dinghy as possible utilizing advanced hydrofoils that lift the hull completely out the water. Second, we aim to prove that high performance racing and sustainability can go hand in hand. To test and evaluate our progress we partake in the annual Sustainable moth challenge (SuMoth challenge).

The SuMoth challenge is a thrilling, multi-stage project that includes three important aspects. Design: Engineer advanced hydrofoils, optimize aero- and fluid dynamics and explore eco-friendly composite materials. Manufacture: Bring the design to life in the through the utilization of sustainable materials and production methods. Race: Put the creations from the previous stages to the ultimate test against other university teams  from all around the world at the SuMoth challenge at Garda lake, Italy.
