Building for the future

For the upcoming season, Chalmers Formula Sailing Team will build a brand-new boat, set to make its debut on Lake Garda at the Sumoth Challenge 2027.The new boat represents the next step in the team’s development, combining lessons learned from previous seasons with new ideas and innovative design solutions. From the initial concept and simulations to manufacturing, assembling, and testing, the entire project will be driven by the team’s ambition to push the limits of student-built sailing technology.

With a strong focus on performance, reliability, and continuous improvement, the team is working to create a boat capable of competing at the highest level while providing valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and project management.After months of development and construction, the ultimate test will come on the water at Lake Garda, where the new boat will make its competition debut at SumoTH Challenge 2027.
